Our Story — Why Zaruri Hai Was Born in Kolkata

One thing we noticed pretty early was that most home service platforms in India were built for Bangalore or Mumbai. They'd arrive in Kolkata later, sometimes with different pricing, different standards, and professionals who didn't know the local neighbourhoods well enough.

Here's exactly how we do it:

Step 1 — Aadhaar Identity Verification
We start with the basics. Every applicant must present a valid Aadhaar card. We cross-verify the details through the official government database.

Step 2 — West Bengal Police Background Check
This is non-negotiable. We run a formal police background check via the West Bengal Police verification system. Any prior criminal record is an automatic disqualification.

Step 3 — Practical Skill Test
We test what they can actually do. A plumber faces real plumbing scenarios. A cleaner is timed and evaluated on technique. No shortcuts here.

Step 4 — Face-to-Face Interview
We meet every professional in person. We evaluate their communication, attitude, and how they'd interact with a customer's family.

Step 5 — Three Reference Checks
We call at least three references — previous employers, neighbours, or community contacts. We want to hear from people who've seen them work.

Step 6 — Two-Day Field Training
All selected professionals complete a mandatory 2-day training at our New Town facility. We cover safety protocols, customer etiquette, product handling, and on-site behaviour.

Step 7 — Official Uniform & ID Card
Once cleared, every professional receives a Zaruri Hai uniform and a photo ID card. When you open your door to a Zaruri Hai professional, you'll know exactly who they are.
